Sunshine is Good for the Soul

I went to Laguna about a month ago to visit my sister. Coming from rainy Seattle, Washington, the sunshine rays felt amazing on my skin. I definitely left my Vitamin D supplements on the shelf at home! It was quite the fast-paced weekend getaway because I was only there for two full days (friday & saturday) and had a 8am return flight home. However, it was great spending good quality time together.

I caught a red eye coming in, but the next morning we ready ready for breakfast. My friends and family who know me well know that breakfast is my favorite part of the day with a myriad of delectable choices, such as scrambles, french toast, eggs benedict, country potatoes, loads of coffee and sweets and savories galore. I love it all. My sister planned well and chose a cliffside restaurant on Laguna beach (hence the name).

The Cliff

We both ordered the crab eggs benedict and the first thing I thought was, “Wow this is fresh!”. The rich, creamy hollaindaise was well-balanced with the freshness of the crab meat. I would give this restuarant 4 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for the amazing food and incredible view of Laguna beach. Who doesn’t like a pretty view of the beach while they’re chowing down?

The remainder of the weekend consisted of catching up with my Southern Cali family, exploring the tide pools and hiking top of the world hike. We hiked nearly all day Saturday and discovered a secret cave off the trail path. The way was a bit treacherous and I had a close call with a cactus bush, but it was an overall memorable experience.

I miss my little sis, but I’m glad she’s only a short plane ride away and I look forward to many more little weekend adventures.

Where do you like to go for quick weekend getaways?

Tschüss~
